DRIVER ARRESTED AFTER ROANE COUNTY TRAFFIC STOP

Early this morning, Roane County deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 70 in Harriman. The driver, 40-year-old Kathy Lynn Stegall was found to have a suspended license.
Deputies asked Stegall whether she had anything illegal in the vehicle and she said no and consented to a search. They found a glass pipe and grinder with marijuana “shake” in a duffel bag in the back seat. She said she’d forgotten those two items were there or she would have told deputies about them.
Stegall was arrested for driving on a suspended license and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and issued a warning citation for the light-law violation.
