DRIVER ENTRAPPED IN SUNSET DRIVE CRASH FREED BY VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS
At approximately 1:30 p.m. on October 22, 2025, members of the South Group Automatic Aid group responded to a motor vehicle collision with entrapment on Sunset Drive in the Oakdale Subdivision. Volunteers from Central View, Hickory Valley, Doyle, and White County Rescue arrived to find an older van with a lone occupant trapped in the driver’s seat; they successfully freed the driver and transferred care to White County EMS param ics. The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the crash at the request of the White County Sheriff’s Office, and all media inquiries should be directed to one of these agencies.
