A driver sustained injuries Friday in a vehicle accident at the 298-mile marker on I-40 in Putnam County.

The crash report released today by the Tennessee Highway Patrol states a 2015 Nissan Rogue driven by 78-year-old Frances G. Eldridge rear-ended a 2019 Freightliner tractor-trailer operated by 46-year-old Tyson Luke Galyon.

Gaylon reportedly slowed down when Eldridge hit the Freightliner.

The Nissan left the interstate after the impact, struck a guardrail, and came to rest off the right side of the road.

Troopers say Eldridge was injured in the accident.

Galyon was not hurt.
