In a follow-up to a story yesterday, a driver has passed away from a head-on vehicle crash yesterday on Highway 127 in Fentress County.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol and medics responded to the scene around 4 a.m. yesterday just north of Clarkrange on the 6,000 block of Highway 127.

The crash report states a 2008 Toyota Tundra driven by 22-year-old Hunter Wells of Fentress County crossed over the center line and collided with an oncoming 2002 Chrysler minivan operated by 38-year-old Trevor Miller of Fentress County.

Both drivers were hurt by the impact.

Miller passed away later from injuries sustained.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol says charges are pending against Wells.

Troopers say Highway 127 at the scene was closed for nearly for 5 hours as the accident was investigated.
