DRUG TAKE BACK DAY TAKES PLACE NEXT WEEK; ROANE LOCATIONS
Roane County, Tennessee – The Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) annual National Prescription Drug Take Back Day will take place on Saturday, October 26 from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. This biannual event is hosted by the Roane County Anti-Drug Coalition (RCADC) in partnership with the Roane County Sheriff’s Office and the Harriman, Kingston, Rockwood and Oliver Springs Police Departments. Prescription Take Back Day aims to provide the safe, convenient, and responsible means to dispose of prescription, over-the-counter and pet medication.
For the upcoming October event, RCADC will host one centralized location at the corner of the Kroger parking lot where citizens can safely dispose of their unused, unneeded and/or expired medications. RCADC will also be accepting vape devices or cartridges. All drop-offs are 100% safe and confidential.
This location will not accept needles (sharps) or inhalers. If you are unable to bring your unused medication on October 26th, RCADC encourages you to safely dispose them at one of the permanent disposal bins found in the lobby of each city’s police department and the Roane County Sheriff’s Office.
