DUI AT SPEEDWAY
On December 9th at around 11:00 p.m., Patrol Officer Tristan Wright of the Crossville Police Department responded to a call at Speedway on West Ave. in regards to a black challenger hitting the gate by the dumpsters.
Officer Wright made his approach to the vehicle and came in contact with the driver identified as Jason Curtis Kilby who appeared to be under the influence of some type of illegal narcotic.
Officer Wright and Lieutenant Lester came to this conclusion based on how he was acting along with the tweaking he was doing. Sergeant Massey was called to arrive on the scene as she is a Drug Recognition Expert.
She arrived on the scene and began field sobriety tests on Kilby, however, he couldn’t keep his head straight during the HGN test, fell off the line during the walk-and-turn test, and couldn’t even understand the walk-and-turn test instructions.
Officers Wright and Massey believed him to be under the influence and arrested him for DUI. Kilby was transported to the Justice Center where a search warrant was written for his blood. After a quick trip to Cumberland Medical Center for a blood draw, Kilby was brought back to the Justice Center and booked.
