EAST RIDGE SEX OFFENDER REGISTRY VIOLATOR ARRESTED

Marcus Nichols, a resident of East Ridge, Tennessee, was arrested on Tuesday for violating the conditions of his sex offender registration by attending a Vacation Bible School (VBS) program where children were present. According to the East Ridge Police Department, Nichols’ presence at the event breached the restrictions imposed due to his prior conviction.

The Tennessee sex offender registry indicates that Nichols was convicted of a rape charge in 2007, which placed him under specific legal obligations, including restrictions on being near locations where children gather, such as schools or community programs like VBS. His attendance at the event violated these terms, leading to his arrest.

Nichols is currently detained at the Hamilton County Jail with a bond set at $150,000. No additional details regarding the circumstances of his attendance at the VBS or further charges have been provided in the available information.
