EF-1 TORNADO CONFIRMED IN FENTRESS COUNTY

The Nashville Office of the National Weather Service has determined an EF-1 tornado struck eastern Fentress County in the Stockton area this past Friday, June 21, 2019. Hundreds of trees were snapped and uprooted along the 3 mile long by 150 yards wide path across Stockton Road, Mt Helen Road, Chestnut Ridge Road, and Sam Smith Road, with maximum winds estimated at 90 mph. Further to the south, damage in the Clarkrange area was determined to be straight-line winds estimated up to 70 mph.
