Eileen Cawood age 99 of Spring City, Tennessee died on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at her residence.

She was born on February 27, 1925 to the late Joseph B. and Susan McPeters Asher and was a lifetime resident of this area. Eileen was a member of St. Clair Methodist Church, where she had attended since her birth. She was a graduate of Spring City High School “Class of 1944”. Eileen was a loving wife, mama, grandma, gigi, and caregiver to too many to mention. She loved with all her heart and will be missed by many.

Eileen was also preceded in death by her husband Harold Cawood, son Benny Cawood, son-in-law Lewis VanHooser, brothers Otis and Boyd Asher, sisters Oma McGill, Lora Cunningham, Zola Dade, Thelma Moon, and Geraldine Getgood.

Survivors include her children Otis Cawood and Charles Cawood of Spring City, Tennessee, Karen (LeBron) Conley of Cleveland, Tennessee, and Donna Cawood VanHooser of Spring City, Tennessee; daughter-in-law Christine Cawood of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren Michelle (Jason) Houston, Charli (Nicky) Gunter, Benjamin Cawood, Danielle Cawood, Jesse Cawood, Allison (Parker) Randolph, and Brandon (Kaylee) Conley; and great grandchildren Ryan Houston, Kayli Gunter, Kade Houston, Ava Wren Conley, and baby girl Randolph due in December.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 7:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Bassette and Rev. Jane Pettit officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 4:00 P.M. until the time of service. She will be buried on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in the Spring City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Clair Methodist Church, 307 Rocky Springs Road, Spring City, TN 37381, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org/donate/, in her memory.
