ESCAPED PRISONER FROM ALABAMA FOUND IN KNOX COUNTY

On Tuesday, March 7, 2023, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, Alabama made contact with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Division to make them aware of an escaped prisoner from Alabama that they believed to be in the greater South Knoxville/Knox County area.
Adam Bolan had escaped from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office jail and LCSO understood Bolan to be with his girlfriend, Crystal Sobolak, in her vehicle. Knox County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Detectives John Theriault, Steve Ballard, and Caleb Shuford were patrolling south Knoxville in an attempt to apprehend Bolan and Sobolak. Knox County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Sgt. J. Underwood observed the suspect vehicle, a Black 2014 Nissan Rogue, pulling into the Chik-Fil-A located on Mountain Grove Road. The vehicle was being driven by Adam Bolan (Arrestee) and Crystal Sobolak (Arrestee) was the front passenger. Both Bolan and Sobolak were detained without incident.
Bolan was confirmed to be a Fugitive From Justice out of Alabama and was arrested and taken to the Roger D. Wilson Detention facility.
Sobolak was transported to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office where she was interviewed by detectives. Sobolak admitted to having picked up Bolan in Alabama after he escaped and to transporting him to Knoxville, TN. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office then obtained charges on Sobolak for Facilitating and Assisting in Bolan’s escape and she, too, was arrested and transported to the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility.
