We have a lot of talented citizens in our area who appeared on national television showcasing their abilities.

Ethan Lively, age 17, of Morgan County is the latest. The Coalfield, Tennessee native and resident of Oliver Springs started singing in church. He learned to play guitar when he was 13 and now performed at fairs and festivals. Outside of music, Ethan stays busy with school and works as a farmer and as a dog groomer.

He also makes time for his best friend Humphry, who is currently undergoing treatment for cancer. When Humphry lost his hair to chemo, Ethan shaved his own head in support, and he enjoys playing music to cheer Humphry up.

Lively auditioned on “The Voice” by singing “You Look So Good in Love” by George Strait. That caught country music star and show judge Blake Shelton’s attention. Shelton selected Lively to be on his team.

Shelton described Lively’s voice as sandpapery and Kelly Clarkson described Lively as a tender cowboy. Shelton believes Lively has a lot of potential.
