EUGENE RICHARD BLAU, AGE 80
Eugene Richard Blau, age 80, of Crossville, passed away September 1, 2020. He was born March 7, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York the son of David and Mollie Schlefstein. He was a graduate of Carmel High School and received his degree from Fordham University in Pharmacy. He then joined his father in the business where he owned and operated Lake Carmel Pharmacy for 44 years. He worked endless hours and made many great friends throughout the years. He was an avid fisherman and loved taking his children Jeffrey and Robyn boating and fishing. He fished mainly with the commercial fisherman. He was also a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying. After his retirement, he and his wife Evelyn moved to Crossville in 2005 leaving behind his water activities and taking up his new hobbies of golfing and RVing. He had an interest in guns and range shooting and was a member of the Fairfield Glade Sportsman’s Club. Eugene was a well-known and respected business man who had many friends both in New York and Crossville. He delighted people with his humor and his kindness. He is survived by his son: Jeffrey Blau (Carol) of Atlanta; daughter: Robyn Eichenholz of Orlando; grandchildren: Jonathan Eichenholz and Ella Eichenholz; and step-grandchildren: Anthony Vilegas and Nicole Vilegas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Evelyn Dean Blau. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday September 3, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at the Fairfield Glade Sportsman’s Club. Obituary by Hood Funeral Home in Crossville.
