Funeral Services for Everett Phillips, age 88, of Monterey, Tennessee, will be conducted on Friday, December 30, 2022, at 11:00 AM from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Bro. Richard Harris and Bro. Mike Kirby will officiate with interment to follow in the Mineral Springs Cemetery. Mr. Phillips was born on Saturday, September 15, 1934, in Monterey, Tennessee, to the late Erbin and Sarrah Roenia Hassler Phillips. Mr. Phillips passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at the Standing Stone Care and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Phillips was a self-employed heavy equipment operator and operated Phillips and Son Backhoe Service. He was a 50-year member of the Green Pond Masonic Lodge #703. He was a member of Mineral Springs Freewill Baptist Church. He is survived by his Daughter and Son-in-Law, Connie and Clifton Bishop of Monterey, TN; Son and Daughter-in-Law, Wayne and Melissa Phillips of Monterey, TN; Grandchildren, Dustin Phillips, Chase (Alyssa) Bishop, Connor Bishop, and Danielle (Jasper) Swallows; Great Grandchildren, Mason Phillips, Morgan Phillips, Talon Swallows, and Isla Grace Bishop; Sisters, Lillie (Odell) McCowan of Monterey, TN, Jewel Melton of Monterey, TN; Special Friend and Her Family, Daphney Phillips of Monterey, TN. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Jean Looper Phillips; Brother, Elvie D. Phillips; and Infant Brother, Willie Phillips.
