Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency officers responded this weekend to a report of a man in the water near the Patterson Road Access Area of Sale Creek on Chickamauga Lake. Authorities say 62-year-old George Knight of Sale Creek was kayaking alone. He was later spotted floating and unconscious in over 10 feet of water by a family member. Water temperature in this area is around 68 degrees. Knight was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to the Hamilton County Medical Examiner’s Office. The incident remains under investigation.
