Knoxville Metro firefighters responded to a residential blaze last night at Autumn Landing Apartments at 6331 Pleasant Ridge Road. They arrived to not only see flames coming from the dwelling but learned a woman was still inside. A rescue crew battled the flames and heat to get to 65-year-old Connie Jones and pulled her outside. Paramedics worked to try to revive Jones but were unsuccessful. There were no other injuries reported. Three other apartments received some smoke damage. The cause is under investigation.
