The FBI and other federal agencies, along with state investigators, have spent much of the morning searching a pain clinic on W. Governor John Sevier Highway in South Knoxville.

Agents descended upon TN Valley Pain Specialists in unmarked vehicles early this morning. According to an FBI spokesman, “federal and state authorities are conducting court-authorized activity at this location.”

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is working alongside federal investigators. Agents have also been turning patients away from the clinic.

It is unknown at this time what the reason is for the search – or what investigators expect to find.
