District Attorney General Russell Johnson says a female charged with a shooting and robbery at Wal-Mart in Lenoir City has pled guilty.

On June 20, 2023, 38-year-old Fredricka Johnson and 37-year-old Joshua Raby, both from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, entered the Lenoir City Wal-Mart off of Hwy 321.

Johnson went to a checkout line with a cash register while Raby went to the clothing section. They were communicating on cell phones with each other. When the cash register was opened by the teller where Johnson was located, Johnson told Raby to fire the gun that Raby had taken in for this purpose.

Raby fired eight times into the air. Customers and employees, including the Wal-Mart employee at the cash register where Johnson was standing, immediately fled the store.

Johnson went to the open cash register and removed $2,200 in cash.

Both Johnson and Raby left the store and fled to Louisiana where they were later apprehended. They had been identified using store video and other law enforcement techniques and methods.

They were both charged with armed robbery.

The clothing that they wore during the armed robbery was discovered in their camper. A gun was found in their car which ballistics testing by TBI determined to be the same gun shot in the Lenoir City Wal-Mart.

On Friday, March 15, 2024, Fredricka Johnson pleaded guilty as charged to the aggravated robbery charge, a Class B felony. It carries a sentence range of 8 to 12 years. She is set for sentencing on May 21, 2024.

Joshua Raby has a court date of April 15, 2024.
