FISHER: “READY TO TALK IF THEY WANT TO” ABOUT VOLS HEAD FOOTBALL COACH POSITION

The search for a new head football coach for the Tennessee Volunteers may be heading in the direction of a familiar name.

Former Tennessee Titans and St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher told The George Plaster Show yesterday he has been contacted about Tennessee’s coaching job but not specifically by the people who would make the hiring decision.

He also said he “is ready to talk if they want to talk.”

Fisher served as a head coach from 1994 through 2016 in the NFL and finished with a 173-165-1 record, six playoff appearances and an appearance in Super Bowl XXXIV.

Other names reportedly being considered for the job include Clemson Offensive Coordinator Tony Elliott, Buffalo head coach Lance Leipold, Louisiana head coach Billy Napier and Coastal Carolina head coach Jamey Chadwell.
