A former teacher and track coach at Heritage High School in Blount County, Tennessee, Shane H. Rewis, has reached a plea deal in a case involving sex crimes against children. Originally indicted on multiple serious charges—including two counts of continuous sexual abuse of a child, trafficking for a commercial sex act, three counts of exploitation of a minor by electronic means, and sexual exploitation of a minor—the case was reduced under the agreement to three counts of exploitation of a minor by electronic means (sometimes described in reports as attempted solicitation of a minor by electronic means, involving inappropriate communications and requests for explicit photos via platforms like Snapchat).
