FORMER JAMESTOWN, TENNESSEE POLICE OFFICER INDICTED IN MISCONDUCT CASE

An investigation by the TBI has led to the indictment of a former Jamestown police officer on official misconduct and statutory rape charges.

At the request of 8th District Attorney General Jared Effler, TBI agents began investigating allegations of misconduct involving 25-year-old Brandon Troy Adams. During the course of the investigation, agents developed information that Adams, who was employed as an officer with the Jamestown Police Department, engaged in a sexual relationship with an underage female.

The Fentress County Grand Jury returned indictments yesterday charging Adams with three counts each of statutory rape by an authority figure and aggravated statutory rape, and one count of official misconduct. Adams turned himself in yesterday afternoon and was booked into the Fentress County Jail on a $40,000 bond.
