It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frances Arlene Jones, age 83, of Crossville, Tennessee. Frances left this world peacefully on Saturday, December 7th, 2024, surrounded by her cherished family.

Born on June 21st, 1941, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, Frances was the beloved daughter of the late George and Rose M. Opat. She grew up in a family that valued love, learning, and resilience, qualities that Frances carried throughout her life.

A dedicated and respected legal secretary, Frances was known for her meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment to her work. Her career was a testament to her dedication and strength, attributes that she demonstrated both in her professional and personal life.

Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edwin L. Jones. She is survived by her loving children, her daughter Lauri Michael and son-in-law Eric.

Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Rosie Barton (Danielle), Andrew Barton (Heather), Michael Barton (Schyler), Erica Mull (Austin), and Justin Michael (Sophie). Frances adored spending time with them, imparting wisdom through her stories and gentle guidance. Further enriching her life were her great-grandchildren, Gauge Cronin, Kendall Cronin, Amelia Barton, Marcy and Octavia Mull.

Frances is also survived by her siblings, her brother Ronald Opat and her sister Maryanne Freytag and her husband Dennis, who provided a lifetime of love and companionship.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Bilbrey Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A private family service will be held to honor Frances’s remarkable life and the indelible mark she leaves on all who knew her.

Frances Arlene Jones will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched. Her legacy of love and kindness will live on forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
