NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Plenty of businesses want to honor our heroes with freebies or discounts on Veterans Day.  To take advantage of these deals, be sure to have your ID or proof of service handy.

Keep in mind “free” may not always mean free. Some discounts require purchase of another food item or drink. Some freebies are offered on different day. Make sure to call ahead before you go!

Food:

• Applebee’s: Veterans and Active Duty Military can select a free meal from a limited menu on Veteran’s Day.
• Calhoun’s: All veterans and active duty military members can enjoy a free meal on November 11.
• Chili’s Grill & Bar: All veterans and active duty military personnel can choose a complimentary meal from a select menu on Veterans Day.
• Pilot Company: Free meal for any active or retired military on Veteran’s Day. Military members can also save their free meal in the myRewards Plus app for a $10 free meal credit.
• O’Charley’s will be serving free food at the VA Medical Center along 24th Ave S. in Nashville on Nov. 9 veterans and the healthcare staff taking care of them.
• McDonald’s: Middle Tennessee McDonald’s are honoring veterans this year with free breakfast. On Veterans Day, Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021, veterans, active-duty military and spouses with military ID can receive one free breakfast combo with a hash brown and any size soft drink, tea or premium roast coffee from McDonald’s.

Leisure:

Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area: Free night of camping at the Alum Ford Campground as well as for all backcountry camping permits for November 11. Click here for information about free camping at sites across the U.S.
