FREEZE-DRIED FRUIT PRODUCTS RECALLED NATIONWIDE FOR METAL CONTAMINATION
On September 26, 2025, Tru Fru, LLC announced a voluntary recall of specific Tru Fru Freeze Dried products, including Strawberries in Dark & White Chocolate (1.7 oz, 3.4 oz, and 13 oz) and Strawberries & Crème (3.4 oz), due to potential metal contamination, as reported by their third-party manufacturer, Georgia Nut Company.
The recall was prompted by a consumer report, though no injuries or illnesses have been reported. The affected products, distributed across U.S. retail stores such as Albertson’s, CVS, Kroger, and Target, as well as online platforms like Hungryroot, can be identified by specific manufacturing codes listed on the package. Consumers are advised not to consume these products and to dispose of them, with reimbursement available through a designated website.
Tru Fru is collaborating with retailers to remove the recalled items from shelves and has provided a contact number and email for consumer inquiries. No other Tru Fru products or lots are affected by this recall.
