FUGITIVE FROM OUT OF STATE ARRESTED IN MONROE COUNTY
A fugitive from out of state has been captured in the area. Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper William Connors stopped a 2005 Chevrolet on I-75 South in Monroe County for several traffic violations. While talking to the occupants, Trooper Connors observed one man in particular that was nervous and shaking. After running a check, Conners learned 40-year-old Garcia Marcelo Rodrigo of Houston, Texas had full extradition warrants for his arrest out of Maryland for four counts of sex abuse to a minor and four counts of third degree sex offense towards a minor. Rodrigo was arrested without incident and charged with being a fugitive from justice. He was booked into the Monroe County Detention Center.
