Funeral services took place yesterday for former Monticello, Kentucky Mayor Kenneth Catron. He passed away Thursday at the age of 83. Catron served the City of Monticello for a total of 27 years, having served six years on the Monticello City Council and 21 years as the Mayor of Monticello. Catron was an Army Veteran as well as a member of the Wayne County Rescue Squad, Kentucky Empowerment Zone, Kentucky Highlands and the Masonic Lodge.
