GALLATIN MAN BREAKS INTO CROSSVILLE DOCTOR’S OFFICE FOR WARMTH
Yesterday, Crossville Police Officer Jonathan O’Neal responded to the office of Dr. Koucheki as an employee at that doctor’s office had arrived to work and noticed a window broke out and unknown belongings in the building. The officer arrived and met with the employee who said when she got to work and saw the broken window she didn’t know if someone was inside.
Officers McNeal and Harthun arrived on the scene for backup. Due to the broken window and blinds, the officer opened the door using the passcode given by the employee. One of the officers went to the doorway and gave commands to come out or a canine would be released.
From within, a male voice made his presence known and cooperated with commands. He was placed in handcuffs and identified as Rickey Willis from Gallatin.
He said he entered the business to get warm.
The officer observed no evidence that Willis’s intentions were to commit a theft, assault, or any other crime.
He was transported to the Cumberland County Justice Center and served warrants for aggravated criminal trespass, and vandalism from the forceful entry into the building. Damage repairs are estimated at $1,000 for the window, blinds, and clean up.
