Goff – Graveside Funeral Services for Gary E. Lawson, age 78, of Glade Creek, Tennessee, will be conducted on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 12:00 PM at the Mayland Cemetery.

Pastor Ralph Reagan will officiate.

Mr. Lawson was born on Sunday, July 14, 1946, in Glade Creek, Tennessee, to the late Albert and Lena Belka Lawson.

Mr. Lawson passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025.

Mr. Lawson was a self-employed logger. He loved to deer hunt, his pets and feeding them and watching them play, NASCAR, Gunsmoke, and Family Feud. He was Church of God in faith. He was loved by his family and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by,

daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Ron Houston of Glade Creek, TN

son, Steve Lawson of Pleasant Hill, TN

daughter-in-law, Mary Lawson of Mayland, TN

7 grandchildren, Josh, Justin, Ashley, Jessica, Eli, Savanna, and Shelby

9 great grandchildren, Haley, Jace, Shyla, Wade, Jase, Caroline, Lena, Katelyn, and Luke

sister, Phyllis Jean Wightman

brother, Bobby Gerald Lawson

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirlyn Auda Swallows Lawson; son, Jeff Lawson; sister, Patricia Lawson; and brothers, Clayburn Lawson and Clifton “Buster” Lawson.

The family will receive friends at the Mayland Cemetery for Graveside Funeral Services.
