GEORGE W. BANFIELD age 79 of Crossville, TN passed away February 6, 2026. He was born December 17, 1946 in Covington, KY the son of George and Edith Burgan Banfield. He retired after eighteen years at Crossville Ceramics and then continued for a few years with Stone Peak. He was also a veteran having proudly served our country in the United States Air Force during Vietnam.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 35 years- Rachel Banfield of Crossville, TN, son- Andrew Banfield of Crossville, TN, brothers- Richard Banfield and his wife Joyce of Nashville, TN, Ronnie Banfield and Gary Remmell and his wife Beverly all of Independence, KY, sisters- Donna Lowe of Crossville, TN and Debbie Tye of Covington, KY and a host of special nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers- Donnie Banfield, William Banfield and Andrew Banfield.

Funeral services will be held Thursday February 12, 2026 at 11am at Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5pm-7pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
