GOV. BILL LEE SET TO CONDUCT NATIONAL GUARD CHANGE OF COMMAND CEREMONY
Tennessee Governor Bill Lee plans to conduct a change of command ceremony today, Sunday, March 3 at 2:00 pm in the Hall of Flags at the Tennessee National Guard’s Joint Force Headquarters located at 3041 Sidco Drive in Nashville.
Maj. Gen. Terry M. “Max” Haston, a Warren County native, will relinquish command and responsibility to Maj. Gen. Jeffrey H. Holmes of Lascassas. As Tennessee’s 76th Adjutant General, Holmes will command more than 13,000 men and women of the Tennessee Army and Air National Guard, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency and the Tennessee State Guard.
Both Haston and Holmes are combat veterans of the Iraq war and former commanders of Tennessee’s largest guard unit, the 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment headquartered in Knoxville.
Haston has served as Tennessee’s 75th Adjutant General since Jan. 9, 2010 and will be retiring after 40 years of service.
