GOV. LEE LAUNCHES FEEDTN.ORG TO CONNECT PEOPLE WITH FOOD DISTRIBUTION SITES
Tennessee Governor Bill Lee has launched FeedTN.org, a new website designed to connect residents with local food distribution sites, volunteer opportunities, and ways to donate food or funds to vetted community partners during the ongoing federal government shutdown, which has disrupted the federally funded SNAP program.
By entering a zip code, users can access these resources, along with communication tools for houses of worship and organizations to inform their communities.
Lee praised nonprofit and faith-based partners for stepping in, while his Faith-Based and Community Initiative coordinates daily with over 300 leaders across all 95 counties to identify needs and mobilize support; those wishing to contribute can fill out an online form.
