According to a statement issued by United States President Joe Biden, all federal government agencies and departments will be closed on January 9th to show respect for President Jimmy Carter who passed away yesterday at the age of 100.

In section 2 of the statement, the heads of executive departments and agencies will be able to determine whether or not certain offices and installations of their organizations must remain open and certain employees must report for duty whether for national security, defense, or other public needs and reasons.
