GOVERNOR-ELECT BILL LEE TO KEEP TN STATE CAPITOL GUN BAN IN PLACE

Tennessee’s new governor says he will continue the ban on guns in the Tennessee Capitol when he takes office Saturday. Bill Lee made the comment Thursday, noting he won’t change the policy put into place by outgoing governor Bill Haslam. Those with state-issued handgun carry permits will still be allowed to be armed within the legislative complex. Twenty-six states have such bans, while other states have limited corresponding policies.
