A South Roane County couple is in jail facing several serious charges. As we reported a little over a week ago, 45-year-old James Walter Gunter was arrested on January 17th around 10:00 PM and faces charges of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child, Trafficking for Sexual Servitude, and 44 cases of Statutory Rape by an Authority Figure. He remains jailed at the Roane County Jail on a 1.3-million-dollar bond.

According to Sheriff Jack Stockton, Gunter’s wife, 42-year-old Pamela Sue Gunter was arrested January 30th.  She is being charged with Criminal Responsibility and Accessory After the Fact. Sheriff Stockton says these charges are in connection with her husband’s charges. The detectives for the Sheriff’s Office are continuing to investigate these alleged allegations which involved a juvenile at the home of the couple. Stockton said their findings will be presented forward to the District Attorney General office as soon as their investigation is completed. Pamela Sue Gunter is being held on bonds totaling $25,000.
