HARRIMAN DECLARES APRIL ‘AUTISM AWARENESS MONTH’

The Harriman City Council recognized the month of April as Autism Awareness Month during Tuesday’s meeting. The effects of autism run close to the city of Harriman as Harriman events coordinator Jennifer Turner, daughter of Harriman Mayor Wayne Best, has a son who is autistic.

During the meeting, City Manager Scott Mason read a proclamation announcing April as Autism Awareness Month. He was joined by Jennifer Turner and Krista Brown, who also has a child diagnosed with autism, and thus the reason the city of Harriman wanted to make sure they were recognizing autism this month.
