Knoxville police took 45-year-old Jason Albert Hayes into custody Tuesday following a domestic altercation at a home on Snyder School Road. When officers asked Hayes to step out of the home and speak with them, he began reaching towards a table with several objects on it. Hayes then physically engaged authorities and was eventually placed under arrest for aggravated assault. The female victim on scene stated Hayes allegedly held her down, head-butted her several times and attempted to strangle her. She was treated for her injuries including a broken orbital bone.
