Fairfield Glade police officers were able to stop a citizen from being scammed any more than what she was this week. She got calls from a subject claiming to be with the DEA requesting money. She initially got a $500 Apple gift card and gave the code before going to the bank. After learning of the incident, an employee of Bank One called authorities to report the victim in her 70’s was attempting to withdraw a large sum of money. Officers arrived and told her no government agency is going to call requesting money. The bogus calls came from area codes 507 (Minnesota) and 360 (Washington State). She did not give the caller her personal or bank information.
