Henri Ella (Rogers) Howard,age 97

Mrs. Henri Ella Howard, age 97 of Jamestown, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at the Signature Health Care of Fentress Co.

Henri Ella was a member of Jamestown Methodist Church. She was the owner of two successful businesses, Fentress County Florist and The Country Peddler along with her daughter Carole. She was a member of Jamestown Lions Club and Jamestown Garden Club. She and her husband, Carl, loved serving their community through the Lions Club with the sight conservation and selling the brooms made by the blind, and buying eyeglasses for the school children.
Their real love was helping with Old Timers Day at Pickett State Park each year. They enjoyed the pickers and singers playing old-time music. They made many friends throughout the years at the park. Henri Ella was well known for her fried apple pies. Visitors from far and wide would ask for her pies the first thing. They truly loved all of their Lions Club friends.
Henri Ella was a wonderful homemaker, learning to cook and bake at a very young age, which made her one of the best around. She was a great seamstress and loved making clothes for Carole and herself. She also had a unique talent for flower design. Through her years in the florist business, she traveled to many design schools to learn the latest in flower arranging. She served the people every day, including holidays, and worked all hours of the night. She loved the people and was a very caring and devoted business lady.
