THEFT AND DRUG ARREST AT CROSSVILLE WALMART

On Sunday, May 1, an off-duty officer noticed a man stealing a hoodie at Crossville Walmart.  Tony Starkes was identified as the thief. He was with a female who was switching tags out at self check out.  Ashton Smith had taken $32.52 of Walmart property. Starkes had stolen $16 of property. Both were taken into custody.

While being questioned, the officer noticed Starkes was visibly under the influence of a stimulant. When asked, he replied he had consumed methamphetamine the prior day and at least five Adderall that day. Starkes also had a robbery warrant out for his arrest from Nevada.

When they were searched, the female was found with 1.76 grams of heroin in the bra area.

They were both transported to the Cumberland County Justice Center.
