HEROIN FOUND IN KNOCK AND TALK SEARCH
On Friday, Deputies Charles, Page, Thompson, and Wilson conducted a knock and talk at a home on Cromwell Ln for possible narcotics traffic by Rodney Gibson. Deputy Ethan Wilson spoke to Gibson and asked him if deputies could come inside, to which he agreed.
Once inside, Wilson advised Gibson the reason deputies were there was for the possibility that he was selling illegal narcotics. Gibson stated that he was not involved in selling narcotics. Wilson asked him if he would show me his room and he walked me down the hallway to a bedroom on the left.
Once inside the room, Wilson asked Gibson again about illegal narcotics, and replied he only had personal use. The deputy asked him where the narcotics were, and he started to walk over and get them, but Wilson stopped him and asked him to just tell the deputy where they were. This was to prevent him from grabbing them in case he attempted to destroy the narcotics.
Gibson finally stated that the narcotics were in the top drawer of a dresser, and Deputy Wilson asked him which one and he pointed to a dresser on the left side of the bedroom. Inside the dresser were several syringes filled with an unknown liquid and a white bottle. Inside the white bottle were two small bags with a white/tan powder substance believed to be heroin that weighed approximately 4.65 grams.
Gibson was placed into custody and transported to the Cumberland County Justice Center for felony possession of heroin. The evidence was stored at the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office to be sent to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation for further processing.
