HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION ON BIG CREEK ROAD IN MADISONVILLE
From Monroe County Sheriff Tommy Jones:
In the early morning hours of Friday, November 21, 2025, at approximately 12:30 a.m., the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the 800 block of Big Creek Road in Madisonville regarding a male subject who had been shot. Upon arrival, deputies located Mr. Adam Ray McGill, deceased on the side of the roadway.
A female witness reported that her neighbor, Mr. Gregory Scott Williams, had shot her dog inside her residence while no one was home, prior to a confrontation outside the home. During the investigation, it was determined that Mr. McGill traveled to Mr. Williams’ residence to confront him regarding the incident. Mr. McGill was shot during the encounter and collapsed while attempting to return home.
MCSO detectives interviewed Mr. Williams, who admitted to firing a .22 caliber rifle during the incident. A search warrant was executed at Mr. Williams residence, and a .22 caliber rifle was recovered.
It is alleged that the reason Mr. Williams shot the dog, in its bed inside the McGill home, was because the dog allegedly acted aggressive towards Mr. Williams’ wife earlier.
Mr. Williams has been charged with First-Degree Murder, Aggravated Burglary, Aggravated Animal Cruelty. He was booked into the Monroe County Jail and is being held with no bond.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office sends our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Mr. Adam Ray McGill during this very difficult time.
This remains an active investigation. Additional information will be released as appropriate.
