HUMAN BODY FOUND IN BURNING FRIDGE BY ROADSIDE IN OVERTON COUNTY

In Overton County, Tennessee, a joint investigation between the Overton County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) was launched after a woman discovered a body inside a burning refrigerator on Sunk Cane Road at State Highway 164 around 1 a.m. on Thursday. The woman noticed the fire in a ravine, stopped to investigate, and found the refrigerator with its door open, revealing a severely burned human body inside.
Due to the extent of the burns, the gender and exact cause of death could not be immediately determined, and the remains were sent to the Medical Examiner for further analysis. The TBI is leading the investigation, treating the case as a homicide, and is exploring leads, including checking for missing persons reports in the area.
