HUMAN REMAINS FOUND IN BLOUNT COUNTY IDENTIFIED AS MISSING WOMAN
Blount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong said today human remains found Saturday have been identified as that of Cheynne Tonisha Shropshire, a 22-year-old Alcoa woman who was reported missing by a family member September 8, 2018.
Forensics experts at Knox County Regional Forensic Center were able to identify the remains by comparison from dental records.
Saturday morning, deputies and investigators responded to a field on Old Middlesettlements Road where human remains were found by the property lessee. The remains were taken to Knox County Regional Forensic Center. Investigators are continuing their inquiry into the case.
