Jack Ray Smith, 79

Jack Ray Smith, age 79, of Kingston, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at his home.  He was born September 29, 1945 in Lafollette, TN.  He moved to Chicago, IL where he worked as a Machinist at Edelmann. Continuing to work at Edelmann, he moved to Dixon, IL. While living there he enjoyed bowling and coaching his wife’s adult softball team. He later moved to Roane County and retired as a Machinist Supervisor from Boeing in Oak Ridge.  After retiring, he worked as a transporter for the Michael Dunn Center.  Jack was an avid bowler in his day and loved UT Football.  He enjoyed spending time with his children & grandchildren, enjoyed taking trips with his wife to their time share in Gatlinburg.  Preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Carol Ann Smith; parents, Ira & Flossie McGhee Smith; grandson, John Reyes; siblings, Roy, Evelyn, Nina, Mary, David, Janie, Jamie, Manerva, Alene, Rowena, and Lola; special friend, Gay Estep.

The family will receive friends 3:00 – 4:00 pm, Sunday, February 2, 2025 at Fraker Funeral Home in Kingston with funeral service following at 4:00 pm, in the chapel with Rev. Randy Griffis officiating.  Interment will be held privately.  Online register book can be signed at www.FrakerFuneralHome.net.  Fraker Funeral Home of Kingston in charge of arrangements.
