Commuters on Interstate 40 Westbound are facing delays this evening following a tractor-trailer accident.

According to traffic reports, a semi-truck jackknifed near mile marker 365.2 at approximately 5:04 PM ET.

The crash has blocked the right westbound lane, as well as the right shoulder. Because this stretch of I-40 consists of only two lanes, westbound traffic is currently restricted to a single lane. Motorists traveling through the area should expect significant slowdowns and are advised to use caution or seek an alternate route while emergency crews work to clear the scene.
