Jackson County Mayor Randy Heady, who had served in his seat since April of 2018, passed away over the weekend after a battle with cancer.

Elected officials mourn his passing, such as Governor Bill Lee, who said he was deeply saddened by the loss of Heady and described him as a strong man of faith and a dedicated pillar of the Gainsboro community.

Representative John Rose also expressed sympathy, hoping that citizens would join him in praying for Heady and his family.
