James “Jim” Alvin Bolden, 78

James “Jim” Alvin Bolden age 78 of Harriman passed away Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Renaissance Terrace after a short stay for rehabilitation. Jim’s military career started after his graduation from East Tennessee State University. He attained the rank of Captain while in Vietnam and received a Bronze Star. He was discharged due to government reduction after the war. He then received his master’s degree from the University of Tennessee. After several years as a Health and Safety Officer contracting with government affairs, he retired and lived in Florida. Our family is proud of him and his service to his country, he was a quiet, giving person who wanted no fan fair for his gifts. Preceded in death by his father Fredrick Bolden, mother Verna Harris Bolden, and brother Fred “Bud” Bolden.

Survivors include:
Sons James Alvin Bolden, Jr,
Richard Lee Bolden,
Sisters Sandra (Rev. Joel) Alamaroad,
Dorothy (Jim) Verkler,
Brother Steve (Mona) Bolden,
and many nieces and nephews.

Following Jim’s wishes the services will be private. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to the Family Life Center of River Side Baptist Church. Kyker Funeral Home of Harriman is serving the Bolden Family.
