Funeral Services for James Tinch, age 79, of Monterey, Tennessee, will be conducted on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at 2:00 PM from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. Greg Jenkins and Rev. Mike Kirby will officiate with interment to follow in the Whittaker Cemetery. Mr. Tinch was born on Sunday, July 1, 1945, in Monterey, Tennessee, to the late Carson and Lucille Vanderpool Tinch. Mr. Tinch passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024, at his home. Mr. Tinch worked with Red Kap for 23 years, later working with Cookeville Mall in maintenance for several years. He was a Little League Baseball Coach for 22 years and coached Basketball and Junior Pro Football. He was Baptist in Faith. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carolyn Henry Tinch of Monterey, TN; daughter, Racquel Swafford (Jimmy Hoover) of Jamestown, TN; son, Chirs (Jamie) Tinch of Cookeville, TN; grandchildren, Lane Tinch, Savannah Tinch, Cheynne Tinch, and Christina Tinch; and sister, Bennie Neil Phillips of Ohio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
