John Eldridge Cannon, 75

In loving Memory of John Eldridge Cannon
April 2, 1951 – June 9, 2026
John Cannon passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, dedication and love
that will be remembered by all who knew him. His life serves as a reminder that true success is
measured not only by personal achievements but by the positive impact one leaves on others.
Throughout his life, John was known for his strong character, generous spirit, and unwavering
commitment to his family, friends and community. He approached every challenge with
determination and every opportunity with gratitude, earning the respect and admiration of those
around him.
John is proceeded in death by his parents Allen and Verda (Peg) Cannon, his brother Andrew
Michael Cannon, and his wife Perian Howe Cannon.
John is survived by his wife, Michelle Spivey Cannon, children; Sarah, Zachary (Brittany), and
Samantha (James), his grandchildren; AJ, Maya, Henry, Chase, Xiomara, Gwendolyn, and Jacob,
his siblings; Jennifer, Patrick and Barbara, step-son Trevor Huffaker (Lori), grandsons Austin
and Holton.
John retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons to Crossville, Cumberland County in 2005. He
was the owner/operator of Wildwood Stables as well as the Co-Founder of Standing Tall Life
Skills Program. John served as an Ombudsmen, was a maverick in establishing food delivery
through his catering business, a coach to inspire many young footballers, and a volunteer within
the foster care community.
John was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan, art and bourbon collector, enjoyer of music, food and
sharing those passions with people he loved.
May he rest in peace and be forever remembered with love and gratitude.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Standing Tall Life Skills Program in
his name. Those donations can be mailed to 1272 Hillendale Road, Crossville, TN 38571.
