CROSSVILLE MAN ARRESTED FOR DUI AFTER ADMITTING GUILT IN TURKEY BLIND ROAD CAR CRASH
On June 7, 2026, Deputy Caleb Cathey of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicular accident on Turkey Blind Road in Crossville, Tennessee. Upon arrival, Deputy Cathey encountered the driver, 44-year-old Jason Lee Walker, a person the deputy was already familiar with. Walker immediately handed over his wallet, admitted to having three beers prior to wrecking, and repeatedly asked to be taken to jail.
Deputy Cathey noted that Mr. Walker exhibited slurred speech, had trouble balancing, smelled strongly of alcohol, and reportedly stated: “I’m guilty as hell, you know that.”
The report states that Walker stated his guilt repeatedly, and was polite, respect, self-accountable, and eager to comply with anything the deputy requested throughout the endeavor.
When asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, he replied, “You’re gonna f*** my CDL (commercial driver license) up when you do that, but I’m guilty”. During tests, he displayed multiple clues of impairment across the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus, Walk and Turn, and One Leg Stand tests.
Following the field tests, Mr. Walker was taken into custody, transported to Cumberland County Intake, and charged with Driving Under the Influence. A search warrant was subsequently executed to collect two vials of Mr. Walker’s blood as evidence.
The vehicle involved in the crash, a 2006 yellow Nissan Sentra, was left at the scene in the owner’s possession. Mr. Walker’s General Sessions court date has been scheduled for July 13, 2026, with a bond set at $2,000.00.
