JOHN ROY HYDER age 82 of Crossville, TN passed away December 7, 2025. He was born July 8, 1943 in Crossville, TN the son of Lester and Martha Presley Hyder.

John was the owner and operator of Hyder Trucking, working alongside his sons until he retired in 2023. John lived and worked in Cumberland County for over 60 years and loved helping his community. John Loved the Lord and his family.

He is survived by his wife Donna Hyder, daughter Jeanne Hyder Smalley, Johnny Lynn Hyder (Tammie Hyder deceased), and Everett Darrell Hyder (Charlotte Hyder deceased) stepchildren Edward, Justin,( Brittney), Brien.

He is survived by his grandchildren Justin Dykes, Courtney Turner, Jonathan Hyder (Nicole), Jennifer Potts (Anthony), Casey Hyder and Tiffany Hyder and numerous great grandchildren that loved him dearly. The Saving Rylan Foundation was near and dear to John’s heart.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers- JC Hyder, Bill Hyder and Charles Hyder and father-in-law- Cliff Wyatt.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday December 14, 2025 at 2pm at Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 12noon-2pm two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hyder Cemetery.
